Academy midfielder Paul Nsio was thrilled to score in the 3-2 Glasgow Cup Final win over Celtic.
The-18-year-old Englishman, who joined from London club Lambeth Tigers two years ago, opened the scoring at the City Stadium last night and further goals from Cole McKinnon and Zak Lovelace earned the B Team the trophy.
Paul also won the Youth Cup with the Light Blues in May and is extremely proud to have helped secure more silverware for the Academy.
He made his first-team debut in the 3-1 League Cup win against Queen of the South at Ibrox in August 2022 and is loving his time in Glasgow.
Reflecting on a tough 90 minutes at the City Stadium, he told RangersTV: “I am proud of the boys, we worked really hard throughout the whole game and I am happy for the win
“I love winning trophies. I have always been a winner.
“I am just proud of the boys honestly, especially against Celtic, we put on a strong performance and we won the trophy and went home happy.
“We have still got another Glasgow Cup to win, whatever happens I am just happy and hopefully there is just more trophies and wins.
“I was pleased with my goal. Oscar Cortes was just pressing, that is what the coaches were telling us to do, and then I just screamed for the ball and he played it to me and it was just a one-touch finish.
“It is always enjoyable to score a goal, especially against Celtic.
“Playing number 10, you have the freedom to do what you want and I felt like I had the freedom to drop in and attack.
“I am just glad that I helped the team.
“At half-time the coaches told us to just go and be aggressive, because I think the first 35 minutes was kind of passive.
“As soon as we were out there and in the first 20 minutes of the second half we just put the foot down, ended up scoring and the rest is history.
“We started off well the first 20 minutes and then lost a goal, but we just kept going and going and then Zak Lovelace got us the win.”
Paul’s development is assisted by annual RYDC donations to the Rangers Academy and more than £11.5 million has already been provided.
Profit from RYDC’s online store and products like Rangers Lotto, Stadium Bricks and The Union Jackpot draw all go to the Academy, while profit from Museum Lotto is donated to the club for the upkeep and maintenance of the Rangers Museum.
