Aiden McCallion scored twice for the 19s last night as the Light Blues beat Gala Fairydean Rovers 4-0 in the KDM Evolution Trophy League.
Lewis Stewart and Zeb Lawson were also on target in the victory for Malky Thomson’s side.
All three Academy players are on loan with Championship side Queen’s Park and McCallion, who made his first-team debut for Rangers at Falkirk on the final day of the 25/26 season, says he is loving the experience.
He told Rangers TV: “It’s been really good. I’ve enjoyed it.
“I’ve come on a few times in games and started a couple of games so it’s been good.
“It’s definitely a step up physically and you have to be smarter in games.
“It’s about knowing when to stay in or maybe go and press and go and try to win it. So, playing in the Championship definitely helps my development.
“It’s a higher level and really competitive.
“It’s a co-operation loan so it’s also really good coming back and playing with the boys again.
“We’ve got the same team we had last year and I think we’ve grown together. I think it shows on the pitch that we’ve played together for a while.
“When we all come back together, we’re a really good team.”
