2026 has been a positive year for Academy star Kyle Glasgow – he signed his first professional contract with Rangers in February, trained regularly with the first-team and was also instrumental in successful campaigns for the 17s and 19s squads.

The Light Blues won CAS Elite League titles at both age groups and 16-year-old attacker Kyle was a key player throughout.

He showed his quality and fighting spirit when Malky Thomson’s 19s side dug deep to beat St Mirren 2-1 in Paisley recently, thanks to two stunning strikes from Zeb Lawson – a result that clinched the championship on the final day of the season.

Hours later, he came off the bench to score the third goal as the 17s beat Hibs 3-0 at Ibrox to complete a memorable day for the highly-rated teenager.

Glasgow has watched Academy players like Lawson, Ashton Scally, Aiden McCallion and Findlay Curtis playing for the senior side while Calum Adamson, Lewis Stewart and Alex Smith have made the bench in big European games.

He is eager to follow in their footsteps one day and will continue working as hard as he can to make that dream a reality.

There is every chance he could do just that in Season 2026/27 and he is vowing to do everything in his power to make that happen.

Speaking as he showed his support for The Rangers Youth Development Company, who donated another £300,000 to the Academy in February, making it more than £12.5 million provided since 2002, the talented forward reflected on his breakthrough season with the club.

Kyle said: “It has been a brilliant season for me and my Academy team-mates.

“Winning the second piece of silverware with the 19s after doing the same with the 17s was a great achievement.

“It was such a great feeling to do it and I felt like I was contributing really well for both age groups.

“I’ve definitely been pushing myself, working hard every single day and just trying to step up and perform well in training.

“I’ve taken that into the games, so it’s been a great season for me personally.

“It was great to join the club when I was young and I’ve been here for a long time now.

“I’m obviously a big Rangers fan, so winning silverware was just such a great feeling because I know what it means to the club and the fans.

“We all know how important it is to be successful here.

“I signed my first professional contract earlier this year and I was always going to stay with Rangers because it’s a club I love.

“Now, I will just keep pushing forward and this season is just a stepping stone. There is more to come.

“I want to kick on now, so it’s just all about working hard, and when I get the chance to train with the first team, I need to keep showing what I can do.

“I love it here. I love coming in every single day to train, play and spend time with the boys.

“It’s a great group of players at 17s and 19s level who all have character and a good mentality. “I’ve played a lot of games with them and they are all good characters.

“We are all quite tight, and when we are training, we’re all pushing each other forward to try and get each other’s spot in the team.

“It’s a healthy relationship, it’s a great group and everyone just wants to push each other forward.

“My dream is to play for the Rangers first team, and I’ve seen players like Findlay Curtis do it.

“He is obviously someone I look up to because he’s been in my position before and has gone on to play a lot of games for Rangers and Kilmarnock when he was on loan.

“Now he’s playing for Scotland, so seeing what he’s done is definitely giving me extra motivation to go and play for the first team in the future.

“We enjoyed winning two trophies this season, but it’s about kicking on and doing well next season again.

“We were champions this year and we need to be champions again the next year and the next. We all want to be successful here and we also have the UEFA Youth League to look forward to.

“Winning is what’s expected and it’s probably been my greatest season at Rangers, winning both the Under-17s and Under-19s league.

“We went over to Ibrox after the St Mirren game and it was good to be a part of that.

“I think it’s important to win trophies in your youth, but it’s also about developing.

“It’s massive because it gives you a taste of winning silverware and that’s what you need to do at Rangers.”
