Rangers Academy trio Calum Adamson, Callum Burnside and Lewis Stewart are enjoying positive loan spells with Alloa and all three featured in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Peterhead.
Right winger Stewart scored the opening goal for The Wasps at the weekend while Burnside, playing at left wing, was named Man of the Match and bagged the final goal in an impressive display.
Adamson, who was on the bench for Rangers in the recent 1-1 draw with Braga in the Europa League, started in midfield for Andy Graham’s side.
Northern Irish under-19 international Burnside is on loan with Alloa until January while Adamson and Stewart, both Scotland under-19 internationals, moved as part of a co-operation agreement between the clubs.
They are thriving with the League One outfit and gaining valuable competitive experience as they look to make their way in the game.
All three are hoping the experience will stand them in good stead and will eventually lead to future first-team debuts for Danny Rohl’s men.
Adamson scored in Alloa’s recent 3-0 win over Kelty Hearts and is delighted to get the chance to play week in, week out.
He said: “I’m really enjoying my time at Alloa.
“It was always the plan to get out and play men’s football this year. That was the aim for me and I’m glad I’ve done it.
“Josh Gentles had a good experience here on loan last season so it was always my first choice to come to Alloa.
“I came to watch a few of Josh’s matches and he did really well. Everyone speaks very highly of him and Alloa have made me feel very welcome too.
“It’s also good to have Lewis and Callum here from Rangers with me and we have a great bunch of lads in the dressing room.
“The gaffer is great and has been really good with me. I’ve enjoyed the matches I’ve played in so far and now I’m looking to push on.

“I’m looking to have a positive season and we’ve started really well.
“We’re sitting pretty high up in the table so hopefully we can progress and win the league or at least get to the playoffs.
“This is a great experience for me and the other Academy boys.
“I want to get as many minutes under my belt as I can, chip in with goals and assists and take that experience back to Rangers.”
Burnside, who also scored for Alloa in their 4-0 win at Montrose in November and is racking up Man of the Match awards, added: “I’m here until January and I’m enjoying playing competitive football every week.
“Andy Graham was really keen on getting me in and it was great to feel wanted.
“Calum and Lewis are both here too and they arrived before me so it was brilliant to see faces I knew in the dressing room.
“All the boys have made me feel really welcome and I’ve really enjoyed it
“I had to work myself into the team but now I’ve got myself in, I feel like I’ve done quite well.
“The manager has watched me playing for Rangers and wants me to just showcase my ability.
“I feel like I’ve taken it all in my stride so far and now I want to just keep it going.
“I’ve won a few Man of the Match awards, scored two goals and made a couple of assists so far and hopefully there is more to come.
“I’ll try to score as many as I can to help the team as much as I can.
“Every game is a test and the standard has actually surprised me.
“It’s a different type of football. It’s a lot more direct and it has definitely felt more physical but there are a lot of players in League One who’ve played at a higher level so the standard is really good.”

Lewis, meanwhile, claimed his first senior goal for Alloa in a 4-0 win at Montrose last month and is enjoying this shared experience with two of his Rangers Academy pals.
The 18-year-old said: “I think the three of us have definitely got a good connection and a good bond on the park.
“Burnsy has been playing well on the left and I’ve been doing well on the right so I’d say the link up play between us is already there.
“Cal wins the ball back, drives forward from midfield and makes good runs so it is good to play with them at Alloa.
“Physicality-wise, it’s definitely a big jump up but I think I’ve adapted to that well.
“People are more aggressive in the way they go about things and you can definitely see the players you come up against are much bigger, want to get into your head more or kick you off the ball.
“It’s different from Academy football but to be honest that’s all part of the learning process and I just go onto the park and play my own game.
“The manager wants me to be positive, create chances and get goals and assists so I think I’ve done well since I’ve been in here.
“I think I’ve been very positive on the ball and it was good to get my first professional goal recently against Montrose.
“Coming here on loan was the best thing I could have done and hopefully I can play well with Alloa and get a new deal with Rangers.”
