Rangers Academy winger Zeb Lawson joined Queen’s Park on a season-long loan recently and he hopes the move will help him achieve his dream of regular first-team football with the Light Blues.

The young Englishman enjoyed a stellar breakthrough in 2025/26 as he featured in three games for the senior side after joining from Brighton and was a key man as the 19s won the CAS Elite Youth League.

Indeed, Zeb was the hero on the final day with two sublime goals at St Mirren as Malky Thomson’s side secured a 2-1 victory and the title in the dying minutes of a hard-fought campaign.

Lawson, who is 18 in November, was then given a first-team run-out at Falkirk alongside Academy team-mates Aiden McCallion and Ashton Scally to cap a memorable debut season with Rangers.

To further his football development, he will now spend this season on loan with Sean Crighton’s side in the Championship – McCallion and Lewis Stewart are also there but on co-operation agreement loans – and he is looking forward to the experience.

Speaking as he showed his support for The Rangers Youth Development Company, who have provided more than £12.5 million to the Academy to date, Zeb said: “I was very happy to join Queen’s Park and was excited to get started.

“The league is a good standard and the players have good quality.

“Now, it’s about getting integrated with the team, getting used to the boys and the style of play.

“My Academy team-mates Aiden and Lewis are here with me and I think it’s good to have people that you know in the squad as it will help me integrate faster.

“I want to create chances, score goals, get on the ball and make things happen at Queen’s Park.

“This is another new challenge and another new experience but I’m always ready for a challenge.

“The manager has been really transparent and open with me and he’s told me how I can be more effective in games for the team. So, I’m looking forward to showing what I can do and helping the team as much as I can.

“I’m only 17 but I’ve had a great journey in football so far.

“I played for a local team and when I was 8 I had trials with Brighton and Portsmouth.

“I was grateful to get offered the chance to join both but I picked Brighton.

“I actually started off as a left-sided centre back but I was always going forward and played high up the pitch. The coaches realised that and stuck me up there.

“I really enjoyed my time at Brighton and I got to know David Weir. He’s a really nice guy and he helped a lot. He told me a lot of good things about Rangers.

“The move to Rangers last season was amazing for me, it couldn’t have gone much better really.

“I played three first-team games, was the top scorer for the 19’s and it was the best feeling ever to score the goals that won the league against St Mirren.

“Then, to play for the first-team again the next day at Falkirk was just incredible so I think it was a really positive season overall.

“I couldn’t have asked for more in my first season at the club.

“Coming up from England, you don’t really know what to expect, but I’ve played for the first-team already and helped the 19s win the CAS Elite League.

“When you put the hard work in, it shows on the pitch and once it shows on the pitch, you get the opportunities that you need to deliver.

“The Rangers 19s squad is one of the best squads I’ve been in and I’ve enjoyed every second of it.

“There is a lot of quality in the Academy and I’m so happy to be a Rangers player.

“It’s literally the stuff of dreams and, as I said, moving to Rangers has been amazing. Honestly, it’s just been amazing and I can’t put it into words.

“I got to work with so many talented players, coaches and staff at the Academy last season.

“I knew a fair bit about the club before I moved here, the Old Firm is one of the biggest derbies in football, so I knew how big the club was.

“There are great facilities and it’s a great place for my development.

“To make my Rangers debut so quickly after I joined against Annan at Ibrox felt good and I think it flips a switch in you and you want that feeling every week.

“You start putting your head down and working even harder than you were before to make sure you’re in the right side of the building every week.

“I was privileged to train with the first-team at Brighton as well a couple of times so when I came to train with the Rangers first-team I think I was still full of confidence.

“You just need to play your own game and try to impress the coaches and as long as you do that then I guess you show your quality and they take a liking to you.

“The players were all encouraging me and before the Annan game the coaches were just telling me to make sure I play my football.

“Obviously, Ibrox is a massive stadium and very loud but you just need to make sure you don’t fold under the pressure and gladly I think I did that.

“I will work hard on my game as I want to fully adapt to first-team football at Rangers and play at a high level permanently.

“Hopefully that can happen soon on the back of a good loan move to Queen’s Park.

“My target is to get on that first-team pitch more. Starting games for Rangers is the goal.

“Rangers is a great club. It’s a huge club and you have to handle it but I have good people around me. I have a great family, a great agent and there are great coaches here at the club.

“Everyone’s in the building because they’re good enough to be here. So, I think that settles everything down and helps you realise that you’re just here doing what you love – which is playing football.

“When I signed, one of my first destinations was to visit the Rangers Museum.

“It was really nice to see the history of the club and I think that was important.

“It gives you more passion because you learn more about the background and you can see how much Rangers means to people.”
