Rangers Academy midfielder Calum Adamson has joined Raith Rovers on a season-long loan deal.

The midfielder, who celebrated his 19th birthday yesterday, enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Alloa Athletic last season, where he featured over 30 times.

He will now make the step up to the Championship with the Stark’s Park side, where fellow midfielder Paul Nsio benefitted from a successful loan spell last term.

A delighted Adamson said: “I’m over the moon to sign for Raith Rovers. I’m buzzing to be here now, to work under Dougie Imrie and get in with the boys.

“There was a lot of interest from Dougie, and there were a few other teams who were interested. I had a few individual chats with Dougie, and what he told me about the standards, what they’re aiming for this season, and where I’ll fit. It made it a standout for me.

“I’m one of those players that feels like I’ve got both sides of the game. I enjoy the physical side of it and, if you lose the ball, have those reactions and tackles.

“At the same time, I’ve got that wee bit of composure and can get my foot on the ball and find a pass.

“This year, I want to add goals and assists.

“It’s a good way to spend my birthday, to get out and sign for Raith Rovers.”
