Congratulations to Rangers fan Iain McHolm who won our first Big Blue Jackpot prize of £16,635 recently.

9-in-a-Row legend John Brown presented the lifelong bluenose with his cheque at Ibrox Stadium and Iain was thrilled to win big money thanks to RYDC plus meet one of his all-time heroes.

The 44-year-old from Larkhall, who plays Rangers Lotto by Direct Debit, said: “Unbelievable. It’s unbelievable. You don’t expect money like that to come your way and it was great to meet Bomber at Ibrox too.

“He was an animal on the park and he’s a gentleman in real life.

“I’ve been playing Rangers Lotto for more than 15 years and you just don’t imagine that you’re getting that phone call. If you do, you think it’s maybe going to be for two or three grand.

“You just don’t expect more than £16,500 coming your way.

“I was at work and I couldn’t even take the first call and then I got a text message asking me to call the RYDC office.

“It was just unbelievable when I was told the amount, it is life changing for us.

“We are doing some work in the house and the last part of the plan was getting the windows and doors done. Now we are going to get the kitchen done and put some aside for a holiday too.

“Walking down the tunnel at Ibrox with John Brown to do some pictures was great.

“There wasn’t a game on but you still get goosebumps.

“I’ve been a Rangers fan all my life and I’ve had a season ticket since I was about 19 so I’ve seen it all.

“I managed to get to Manchester for the UEFA Cup Final in 2008 and the Europa League Final in Seville and we were so close to beating Eintracht Frankfurt.

“I’ve seen so many great games at Ibrox – Parma and Dortmund are standouts – and I’ve seen so many great players too.

“I always loved Brian Laudrup. He was just a football God wasn’t he?

“Then we got Gazza in the same team under Walter Smith which was unbelievable. I had the pleasure of meeting him once and he was a gentleman. Mr Rangers.

“I’d definitely encourage fans to play Rangers Lotto, you can win life-changing money and profit goes to youth development at the club.”

We announced a new Rangers Lotto prize structure for over 18s at the start of the season – with the help of former Light Blues star Ian Durrant – and fans have really bought into it.

There are still weekly Lotto draws with 4 prizes of £250 available but in the final week of each month one lucky supporter is guaranteed to win a minimum prize of £12,000 in four-week months and at least £15,000 in five-week months.

The more who play, the higher the jackpot prize will be, up to a legal maximum of £25,000, and Rangers Lotto costs just £1 per ticket.

Every penny of profit goes towards RYDC’s annual donation to the Academy and more than £12 million has been provided to date.

Iain scooped our first Big Blue Jackpot prize for September and in August fellow fan David Watson won £12,500 with Rangers Lotto.

RYDC Director Colin Stewart said: “Seeing Rangers fans winning big money with RYDC is always one of the best parts of the job and I’m absolutely delighted for Iain and David.

“A huge thanks to everyone who bought Rangers Lotto tickets, the more who play the higher our Big Blue Jackpot prize will be and £16,635 is a fantastic amount to give away.

“Thanks also to Bomber for presenting Iain with his prize today, John has always been extremely supportive of our work and it was a pleasure to welcome Iain to Ibrox to confirm his jackpot.

“All profit from Rangers Lotto helps us support the Rangers Academy and we are extremely proud to have donated more than £12 million so far.

“We are already looking forward to giving away the next Big Blue Jackpot prize early next month, so please sign up now for your chance to win.”

Rangers legend John Brown added: “Congratulations to Iain for winning this terrific Big Blue Jackpot prize.

“It’s always a pleasure to show my support for RYDC, they have raised millions of pounds for the Academy through profit from products like Rangers Lotto, Museum Lotto and the Union Jackpot half-time draws.

“Thanks to all supporters for their backing, it’s always great to see fans winning big money like this and good luck to everyone who buys tickets for the next Lotto jackpot.”

Youth development at Rangers is assisted by annual RYDC donations to the Academy and more than £12 million has been raised.

Profit from our online store and products like Rangers Lotto, Stadium Bricks and The Union Jackpot draw all go to the Academy, while profit from Museum Lotto is donated to the club for the upkeep and maintenance of the Rangers Museum.

Remember, a minimum Big Blue jackpot of £12k must be won at the end of four-week months and at least £15k in five-week months.

The more supporters who play Lotto, the higher the jackpot will be – capped at £25,000.
