Loan Ranger Findlay Curtis celebrated his call-up to the Scotland squad with a crucial goal for Kilmarnock in their 2-0 weekend win over Livingston.

The 19-year-old forward is enjoying a positive loan spell at Rugby Park and his strike sealed an important victory for Neil McCann’s side.

It capped a fine week for the Light Blues Academy graduate who has earned a place in the national squad for the first time for matches against Japan at Hampden on Saturday then Ivory Coast at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium the following Tuesday.

A delighted Curtis told KillieTV: “It’s unbelievable, I didn’t expect it at such a young age but it’s a dream come true and I just can’t wait to get going.

“I got a call from the gaffer here and he said you’re in the consideration set-up, and I’m thinking to myself ‘It’s mental’.

“Then he phoned me and said I’m in the full squad.

“I was bursting with pride and told my mum and dad. My mum started crying.

“It’s huge.

“Getting out and playing football has been massive for me and I think that’s a factor in getting this call-up.

“I will keep working hard and see what else can come.”

Findlay’s career development was assisted by annual RYDC donations to the Rangers Academy and more than £12 million has already been provided.
