Congratulations to Rangers goalkeeper Rydnn McGuire who has signed a new three-year contract extension with the club.

The 17-year-old has progressed impressively through the Academy ranks in recent seasons and has now committed his future to the Light Blues.

Rydnn, a Scotland youth international, signed his first professional deal with the club in 2025 and appeared on the subs bench in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals two seasons ago.

He also played an important role in the CAS Elite League title triumph for the Rangers Under-19s last season, earning him the 2025/26 Academy Player of the Year accolade.

A delighted McGuire said: “It is a proud moment to commit my future to Rangers.

“This club has been a huge part of my life for many years, so to continue my journey here means a great deal.

“I’m really grateful to all the Academy coaching staff who have supported me throughout my development, pushing me to improve every day and helping shape me into the player I am today.

“I’m excited for what the future holds, to keep working hard and developing, and hungry to hopefully create special moments for the club in the years ahead.”

Manager, Derek McInnes, added: “Rydnn is a talented young player who has worked hard to reach this point, and this new deal is recognition of the progress he has made.

“From day one, he has impressed me no end, and he’s a young man with a big future, if he continues to work hard at his game.

“As a club, we place huge importance on creating a clear pathway from the Academy into the first-team, and it’s vital that our young players can see opportunities to earn their place.

“The challenge for Rydnn now is to continue developing, and he will be both supported and challenged every step of the way by Allan McGregor and our fantastic goalkeeping department.”
