Congratulations to lifelong Bluenose David Watson who has just won a £12,500 Rangers Lotto jackpot.
The 62-year-old, pictured at Ibrox with his wife Susan, was over the moon to win one of RYDC’s biggest prizes and he is encouraging supporters to play our Lotto as they could scoop the jackpot just like him.
David was RYDC’s guest ahead of the Club Brugge Champions League qualifier and club photographer Kirk O’Rourke took him into the dressing room to capture his big moment.
He was then invited to sit in on the pre-match media conference with Russell Martin and Thelo Aasgaard and loved every minute of his visit to the stadium.
Reflecting on a huge Lotto win thanks to RYDC, he said: “I’m over the moon as they say in football parlance.
“It came at just the right time for us as we just moved house so this win came in really handy.
“We were able to upgrade a few things as a result of this win and we have a holiday coming up as well so we can look at going somewhere really nice.
“£12,500 is a huge amount and when the letter arrived from RYDC we phoned and were told exactly what we had won.
“I thought it would be about £50 or something like that so when we found it was £12,500 we were over the moon!
“It was great to get into the Rangers dressing room to get the big cheque then watch the press conference.

“I’ll be coming to a game to get it presented on the pitch at half-time soon so I’m looking forward to that experience too.
“It has been surreal, you always think this type of thing will happen to someone else.
“I would encourage as many fans as possible to play Rangers Lotto, it can happen to you.
“Profit goes to help the youth development at the club and hopefully we can bring on some younger players.
“I’ve always looked at it like a donation to help the young players here rather than gambling but now I’m a winner I’m delighted.
“It’s always great to see one of our own coming through.
“I’ve been a Rangers fan all my life and I would say going to Manchester and Seville for European finals with my boy is the two highlights.
“They were great experiences and I also enjoyed winning 55 under Steven Gerrard during Covid. Some of the football we played that season was different class.
“We’ve had some great players at Rangers and one of the best I ever watched was Michael Mols before he got that knee injury.
“He was just unbelievable and that turn he had was something else.
“The first Rangers strip I got was in the early 70s.

“My mum was a machinist and you couldn’t get numbers on strips back then so she put on number 11 for Willie Johnston. He was a great player and big Derek Johnstone was also a big favourite of mine.
“The early 80s weren’t great until Mr Souness came along then Walter Smith was manager during 9-in-a-Row and they were fantastic memories.
“It was great to be successful and watch some incredible players.
“They were the best years of your life as a fan.”
RYDC Director Colin Stewart added: “It was a pleasure to welcome David and his wife to Ibrox and present his £12,500 Lotto cheque.
“They were pictured in the dressing room, had a chance to walk down the tunnel to see the pitch then attend the pre-match media conference with Russell Martin and Thelo Aasgaard.
“One of the best parts of the job is giving Rangers fans prizes and David was over the moon.
“£12,500 is a lot of money to win and supporters can win similar monthly Big Blue Jackpots from the end of September.
“A huge thanks to all fans who play Rangers Lotto, all profit helps us support the Rangers Academy and we’ve donated more than £12 million so far.”

Youth development at Rangers is assisted by annual RYDC donations to the Academy and more than £12 million has been provided so far.
Profit from our online store and products like Rangers Lotto, Stadium Bricks and The Union Jackpot draw all go to the Academy, while profit from Museum Lotto is donated to the club for the upkeep and maintenance of the Rangers Museum.
Fans can also big money and Light Blues legend Ian Durrant launched our Big Blue Jackpot prize structure recently.
